Jan and Lisbeth in Zanzibar

Here is a little presentation of who we are and how we ended up in Paje, Zanzibar.

We, Jan and Lisbeth Kastner are language /sports teachers who were teaching on Zanzibar in the late 80s. After two wonderfull years we went home with the thought of returning on a more permanent basis. In year 2000 we finally realised our dream.

Together with a good Zanzibarian friend - whom we got to know during our earlier visit on the island, we built another small guesthouse.

We have now moved to to PAJE NDAME VILLAGE, which now has 60 beds in 28 rooms in 13 bungalows.

Ndame is located in Paje, a small village on the southeast coast, 50 km from Zanzibar town. The villagers earn their living mostly by fishing and seaweed farming.
